We often say it’s the things you don’t see that matter. No time has that been more accurate than right now as we take steps, along with businesses worldwide, to manage our business operations and continue delivery of projects for our clients during this unprecedented time.

At DMA Engineers, we’ve set up a COVID-19 task team who are meeting daily to plan for various business scenarios within the dynamic and ever-changing environment that we are all operating in. Our first priority is for the well-being of people – our staff, clients, peers and other people who we interact with daily. While keeping this as our priority, we are:

1. Doing everything possible to ensure we meet all client deadlines and commitments.

• With the dynamic nature of the business environment at present we anticipate that this may present some challenges, and we appreciate in advance your understanding of any minor delays. We will endeavour to keep you informed as much as possible if we anticipate any delays.
• We’re also looking at innovative ways we can keep your projects on track, such as remote site visits (yes, they’re possible!). Speak directly to your Project Manager to discuss different ways your project can be remotely managed.

2. Rolling out our work-from-home policy.

• We’ve mobilised our entire team to operate from home in the week commencing 30 March, with access to all the systems and tools they need to deliver their projects and continue communications with clients. If you need to get in touch with one of our team, please check their contact details below.
• Our practice management software, conference call capabilities, VPN and other tools will be invaluable in assisting with this.
• To help troubleshoot any potential tech issues with our team working from home, we operated on a 50/50 model for the week 23 March with 50% of staff working in the office and 50% working from home, on rotation. This allowed us to iron out any issues while we still had staff in the office, and set us up for successful remote working.
• We will update this post when we have further details of our return to office working, based on government guidelines.

3. Committed to doing everything we can to flatten the curve.

• We have ceased all flights and are restricting our attendance at in-person meetings and site visits in consultation with clients. This does not mean that all site inspections are cancelled, but they will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and, alternatives will be adopted as appropriate.
• In line with Government recommendations we have implemented policies for our staff to ensure strict adherence to the 1.5 metre social-distancing and not more than 1 person per 4m2 rules.

We anticipate updating this information on a regular basis. Your nominated Project Manager will keep you informed of any changes to our working arrangements that may impact your project. However, please know that we are 100% committed to delivering on our current project promises.
