Andy has over 15 years’ experience in the building services industry working for internationally recognised engineering consultancies undertaking electrical services design and management. Andy has vast experience in a variety of sectors including, high rise residential, education, health care, commercial offices, senior living, sports, nuclear and defence.

Andy is focused on electrical sustainability and strives to adopt energy efficient technologies within his involvement on projects.

Andy was the Lead Electrical Engineer for the design of The Londoner Hotel, the deepest habitable grade commercial building in the world.  

My career highlights:

  • University of Liverpool, The Yoko Ono Lennon Centre | Andy was the project Lead Electrical Engineer for the design of The University of Liverpool’s new £22.1m Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, opened in 2021. The centre houses a 400-seat Tung Auditorium with space for a 70-piece orchestra, as well as a state-of-the-art 600-seat lecture theatre. Andy’s role consisted of the full electrical building services design including lighting, small power, lightning protection, ICT, and security and fire alarm design. Andy was also heavily involved in client, stakeholder, and design team meetings from project inception to project completion.
  • Edwardian Radisson Group, Leicester Square Hotel – London | Andy was the project Lead Electrical Engineer for the design of a £200m+ Edwardian Radisson Hotel located in the heart of Leicester square in London. A very challenging engineering project due to the six stories of basement below ground, including pool and spa facilities at basement level three and an event room with 700pax dining capacity at basement level 1. Andy’s duties included the technical design of all electrical systems within the building as well as attending client and stakeholder engagement meetings throughout the project.
  • Liverpool Football Club, Main Stand Expansion, Anfield | Andy was the client’s Technical Advisor for the Liverpool Football Club Main Stand Expansion project. The project consisted of an extension to the main stand to increase seated capacity for an additional 8,500 spectators raising overall capacity to 54,000 spectators as well as the addition of high-spec hospitality amenities. Andy’s role included the review of technical design and installation drawings, numerous site inspections and meetings from project inception to project completion.
  • BAE Systems, New Assembly Workshop | Andy was the Project Lead Electrical Engineer for the electrical design and refurbishment of a submarine manufacturing facility for the future provision of the successor programme at BAE Systems’ Barrow facility. Responsibilities included surveying the existing electrical services for the manufacturing facilities to enable an entire redesign and upgrade of the current electrical facilities to facilitate a large process required for the successor programme. Checking and approval of design drawings and calculations was also required.
