Feedback on work completed by Dean on the Flint Street Subdivison project.
For ten years I worked as a qualified plumber and drainer on a large variety of commercial and industrial projects. In 2017, DMA gave me the opportunity to work with them as a cadet hydraulic designer. I enjoy problem-solving to create functional and cost-effective designs.
Using my previous experience as a plumber and drainer and the experience I have so far gained in engineering, I am able to offer my clients a wealth of knowledge and advice that can assist in solving issues and identifying problems before they arrive on site and throughout the build. When challenges do present themselves, I am quick to assist my clients and help all parties involved achieve a positive outcome.
“DMA Engineers were engaged to provide Hydraulic Design services on the Brisbane Private Hospital CSSD Upgrade project. This was a highly complex project involving an existing building with minimal information available on existing services.
Dean Carter from DMA was extremely responsive and proactive in addressing issues and concerns as they arose, ensuring works could progress on site with no delay to the project program. With his background as a trade plumber, Dean was able to work closely with the on-site plumbers to rectify existing non-compliant plumbing issues that had been causing the hospital problems for several years. He also developed money-saving solutions such as identifying a more efficient location for the RO plant, resulting in a reduction in the length of the required stainless steel RO pipework.
Dean is a great communicator who continually kept the project team updated on how design and documentation were tracking, and was very easy to work with. Overall, the DMA project team has, and continues, to perform extremely well on this project.”

I’ve had a wide range of experience during my time at DMA, and I’ve seen many different projects in different areas. My work on some major projects has included:
Responsible for completing the hydraulic designs and obtaining approvals from councils and other authorities for multiple designs for plumbers based in Brisbane, consistently achieving quick turnarounds to meet client needs.
Creating inner beauty means creating a design that may not be seen but due to the complexity and beauty of the hydraulic design this has allowed the client to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing overall product.
