Steve Grzeskowiak
Deputy Secretary Estate and Infrastructure, Department of Defence
The Defence Estate and Infrastructure Group (E&IG) are instrumental to Australia’s defence capability and ability to project our influence in the Indo-Pacific. Steve is responsible for E&IG’s budget of $3.9 billion, assets valued at over $62 billion and stewardship of 3 million hectares of land with 300 properties and 25,000 buildings. The Group provides the bases and training areas from which the Australian Defence Forces and our allies operate. Steve relocated to Australia from the UK in 2003 and has held senior roles in Defence since including Defence Support Chief Operating Officer and Head of People Policy.
Professor Andrew O’Neil
Dean (Research) and Professor of Political Science, Griffith Business School
Andrew is the Chief Investigator of the Australian Research Council grant analysing the Australia-US alliance. Andrew was the Head of the School of Government and International Relations at Griffith University. He is the former editor-in-chief of the Australian Journal of International Affairs and the author of several books. Before academia Andrew worked as a senior public servant in Australia’s Department of Defence.
