Senior Fire Engineer

Jesse is a qualified mechanical engineer and registered fire protection engineer who has designed both wet and dry fire services for a wide range of projects and sectors including industrial, commercial, and residential building works. Working alongside architects, building owners, and builders, Jesse develops quality fire services designs while ensuring the architectural vision and client objectives are enhanced throughout all aspects of the building design.

Jesse is highly experienced in designing fire services in compliance with Australian Standards, FM Global Datasheets, and the NCC and Queensland Development Code. His extensive modelling and design skills include utilising AutoCAD, Revit (inclusive of BIM processes) and Hyena software. Jesse regularly carries out site investigations and analyses client options for upgrades and alterations to existing fire systems to improve performance and compliance outcomes.

My career highlights:

  • Sundale Garden Village Tewantin: Designed a Class 9c sprinkler and occupant warning system according to Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
  • Ronald McDonald House South Brisbane: Completed the design for a Class 3 sprinkler and occupant warning system according to Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
  • Leading the QBuild – Fire Hydrant System Compliance review at multiple Department of Education schools to achieve compliance and safety, meeting QBuild’s internal fire services guidelines, Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC).
  • Designing a networked fire detection system across the Royal Brisbane Hospital campus as part of a major upgrade to replace redundant the detection system and improve functionality.
  • Leading the design and construction documentation for fire sprinkler, detection, and hydrant systems at the Brisbane Markets Building E1, including sprinkler system fabrication detailing for the fire contractor.
  • Delivering EPS panel sprinkler protection design and documentation in line with FM Global Datasheets requirements for the existing meat processing facility at Teys Rockhampton.
