Koroush is the Chief Executive Officer of DMA Engineers and has been a senior member of the DMA team since 2016. He is responsible for providing leadership, direction and governance to the business.

Koroush is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with more than 20 years industry experience, primarily in fire safety and fire services engineering. He specialises in high rise buildings, retail, health care and commercial developments. Koroush’s broad experience along with his knowledge of fire services, Australian Standards and building codes enables him to develop diverse solutions for his clients, while considering the physical build, cost constraints and code compliance. He is particularly passionate about finding innovative solutions to improve flexibility in design and deliver cost efficiencies.

Koroush is an expert in performance-based fire engineering approaches for the building design and preparing fire safety engineering reports for Building Approval. He is experienced in wet and dry fire protection systems such as sprinkler systems (wet and pre-action), detection systems (point type detection and multipoint aspirating), emergency warning and intercommunication systems, hydrant and hose reel systems and portable fire extinguishers.

Career highlights:

  • Leading the project team delivering the Redland Hospital Fire Upgrade, updating the existing conventional fire detection and alarm systems to achieve the highest safety level for Metro South Hospital and Health Services.
  • Developing the fire safety engineering for the new Sunshine Coast City Hall project, a 5 Star Green Star landmark building in the Maroochydore CBD that included 13 floors and car park levels.
  • Successfully staging building services construction works on the Lutwyche Shopping Centre Stage 2 expansion and modernisation refurbishment to minimise impacts on the operational centre and tenants.
  • Completing the fire sprinkler system, fire detection and alarm system design for The Avenue Maroochydore Retirement Community, a four-story, 117 apartment building in the Maroochydore town centre.
