Augusta Village Shopping Centre

Augusta Village was a brand-new shopping centre built in Augustine Heights, a suburb within Greater Springfield in Queensland. Construction was completed in 2017.

The new centre is comprised of 12 tenancies, including the flagship tenant, an IGA supermarket. Offering convenience and accessibility, Augusta Village is now a major drawcard for individuals and families looking to buy or build their dream home in the master-planned community.

Local shopping village

The owner was looking to create a new shopping centre at a previously undeveloped site in Augustine Heights. DMA Engineers was engaged as part of the Evans Built team to provide electrical and mechanical services for the base-build services and fit-out of the IGA. In supermarket fit-outs the most common coordination issue involves working around signage and structures. We took this into account from the start, effectively planning and designing the services layout within these known constraints.

Accounting for everything

Our team was tasked with supplying each tenancy with sufficient telecommunications connectivity and air conditioning. The air conditioning system we selected was a reverse cycle system, which was chosen as it efficiently heats and cools a building depending on the season and the temperature. Communal services included general lighting for common areas such as the carpark and components of the external building including the awning, centre amenity services, the transformer and MSB design.

The IGA fit-out was designed in coordination with the IGA standard brief and adjusted to suit the tenancy envelope. The design was fit for purpose but focused on a flexible and expandable design suitable for a shopping centre complex.
